Terms of Service
Last updated: 11 June 2026
1. The service
Ember is a financial-independence modelling and tracking tool operated by [LEGAL ENTITY / TRADING NAME] (“we”). By creating an account you agree to these terms, the Privacy Policy, and the Financial Disclaimer — the disclaimer is part of these terms: Ember is not financial advice.
2. Your account
- You must provide accurate signup details and keep your credentials and two-factor backup codes secure. Two-factor authentication is mandatory.
- One person per account; you are responsible for activity under your account.
- You must be at least 18 and able to form a binding contract.
3. Plans and billing
Spark is free. Paid tiers (Ember, Blaze) unlock additional features at the prices shown on your account page. [BILLING TERMS — fill in when payments launch: billing cycle, cancellation, refunds.] We may change tier pricing or feature allocation with reasonable notice.
4. Acceptable use
- No attempts to access other tenants’ data, probe or overload the service, or bypass tier, quota, or security controls.
- No unlawful use, and no reselling the service without our written agreement.
- Bring-your-own API keys must be keys you are entitled to use; their cost and provider terms are between you and the provider.
We may suspend accounts that breach these rules.
5. Your data
Your financial data is yours. We claim no ownership; we process it only to run the service (see the Privacy Policy). You can export or permanently delete it at any time.
6. Service availability
We aim for high availability but provide the service “as is”, without warranty of uninterrupted or error-free operation. Back up anything you cannot afford to lose using the export feature.
7. Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Otherwise, we are not liable for financial losses arising from decisions you make using Ember’s projections or insights (see the Disclaimer), and our total liability is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
8. Ending the agreement
You can stop using Ember and delete your account at any time. We may terminate accounts for breach of these terms, with notice where practicable. On deletion, your data is erased as described in the Privacy Policy.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of [JURISDICTION].
